R3EMCOMM is a decentralized collective of amateur radio operators dedicated to community resilience, mutual aid, and tactical emergency communications.
We operate without a president, officers, or a bank account. We do not collect dues, host formal board meetings, or issue top-down commands. Instead, we function as a peer-to-peer network of independent operators who self-assemble when our neighbors need us most.
When the power goes out, the internet fails, or cellular networks collapse, R3EMCOMM is already on the air.
The R3 Ethos
Autonomous Nodes: Every operator is completely self-reliant, maintaining their own power sources, antennas, and gear.
Horizontal Coordination: We make decisions through active consensus on the air. The operators who show up to do the work direct the response.
Zero-Cost Infrastructure: We don't have a treasury because we don't need one. By utilizing our own localized equipment and open-source protocols, we remain entirely immune to financial or bureaucratic bottlenecks.
Our Capabilities
Grid-Down Lifelines: Providing localized voice and data relays when traditional infrastructure fails.
Civic Mutual Aid: Supporting grassroots community groups with logistics, weather spotting, and neighbor-to-neighbor welfare checks.
Interoperable Data: Deploying off-grid digital modes to transmit accurate, written text, resource requests, and medical logs across distances without internet access.
Active Nets & Frequencies
Because we maintain no central office or formal membership rolls, the easiest way to join or coordinate with R3EMCOMM is directly via the airwaves. Tune in, check in, and map your node into the network. For off-grid inquiries, coordination, or questions, you can contact us at r3emcomm@proton.me or reach out on the air.
